Optimistic Media LLC ("we") operates the Dear Optimist mobile app, a daily affirmation and journaling app.
To provide the app, sync your content across devices, deliver daily notifications you enable, manage subscriptions, and (for free users) show ads. We do not sell your personal information. California residents can opt out of any sharing for cross-context advertising via the in-app “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” toggle.
Your content is stored with Supabase (Postgres + object storage). Voice memos live in a private bucket scoped to your account. Access is protected by row-level security, and data is encrypted in transit.
Dear Optimist is intended for users 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact hello@dearoptimist.app and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dearoptimist.app.
You can edit or delete entries in-app, opt out of ad personalization, and delete your account entirely at any time — see Delete account.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, with an in-app notice.
